CAREER EDUCATION AT W-WCHS

Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) is education about and for careers. CTAE was formerly known as vocational education. "The mission of CTAE is to educate Georgia's future workforce by engaging students in experiences that will prepare them for workplace success. Through CTAE, students see the relevance of their high school efforts to their future career goals..." (GaDOE). At W-WCHS students have eleven (11) Career Pathways from which to chose. All students complete at least one (1) pathway during their high school career. The career cluster areas in which pathways are offered include the following:

  • Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources
  • Business, Management & Administration
  • Information Technology
  • Education
  • Health Science

Visit the CTAE webpage for more information about pathways and courses offered: https://www.wilkes.k12.ga.us/1/Content/ctae. On this page, you will also learn about the Career and Technical Student Organizations students may join that are related to each career area.
